VOLT Lifting Straps
ENGINEERED FOR MAXING OUT, BUILT TO LAST.
Lifting straps take grip out of the equation. When your hands give out before the working muscle does, a strap wraps the bar and holds it for you, so the deadlift or the row is limited by your back rather than by your fingers.
When to use them
- Heavy deadlifts where grip is the reason the set ends rather than the pull itself.
- Rows and pulldowns in volume, where the hands fatigue long before the lats do.
- Shrugs and carries at loads your grip simply cannot hold.
- Accessory work near the end of a session when your hands have already done a lot.
When not to
Not on every set. Grip is trainable and straps take the stimulus away, so keep your warm-ups and your lighter working sets strapless and save them for the weights that need them.
They are also the wrong tool for bar work. Pull-ups, toes-to-bar and muscle-ups need grips, which protect skin and let you release the bar instantly. A strap you cannot get out of quickly has no place on a rig.
How to use them
Thread the strap through its own loop, put your hand through, and lay the tail across your palm in the direction the bar will roll. Wrap the tail around the bar two or three times, then roll the bar back towards you to tighten it. Done properly the strap cinches under load rather than slipping.
One size, sold as a pair.
